The Pandemic influenza preparedness framework (PIP) is a unique framework,which brings together Member States, industry, other stakeholders and WHO toimplement a global approach to pandemic influenza preparedness andresponse. Member States in the South-east East Asia Region, particularlyIndonesia, played a key role in its development. This is the report of the firstregional Regional workshop on implementation of PIP in the Region, whichincludes sessions on virus sharing, laboratory and surveillance, burden of diseasestudies, risk communication, and regulatory capacity- building.
