The Regional Committee for South-East Asia is the World Health Organization’s governing body in theSouth-East Asia Region, with representation from all 11 Member States of the Region. It meets inSeptember every year to review progress in health development in the Region as well as to considerthe regional implications of the World Health Assembly resolutions, among others.This report summarizes the discussions of the Sixty-ninth Session of the Regional Committee held inColombo, Sri Lanka, on 5–9 September 2016. At this session, the Committee reviewed and discusseda number of public health issues important to the Region, such as the Sustainable Development Goals,addressing noncommunicable diseases at the primary health care level, neglected tropical diseases,migration and health, and International Health Regulations post-2016, among others. The Committeeadopted a number of resolutions on selected issues.
