Thông tin chi tiết
Tóm tắt : | HIV transmission remains a major public health concern and affects millions of people in the WHO European Region, particularly in the eastern part of the Region. The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) and the WHO Regional Office for Europe have jointly carried out the enhanced surveillance of HIV/AIDS in Europe since 2008. This report is the latest in a series published jointly by ECDC and the WHO Regional Office for Europe. It finds that while epidemic patterns and trends vary widely across WHO European countries, sustained increases have been seen in the number of newly diagnosed infections within certain transmission groups across parts of the Region: men who have sex with men in the Centre and East, and heterosexual transmission in the East. Other findings indicate that just over half of those diagnosed with HIV in the European Region are diagnosed late, increasing the risk of ill health, death and onward HIV transmission. xxvi + 95 p. |
