Tóm tắt : | Noncommunicable diseases (NCD) make the largest contribution to the burden of disease in the WHO European Region. Information to characterize the health situation and trends, including risk factors and their determinants, is of key importance to informing policy formulation and programme development. A number of international organizations, such as WHO and the European Union, monitor NCD, each through its own frameworks and databases. However, there are still some information gaps and challenges that need to be addressed, from the completeness of data collections to the quality and comparability of the data. This report is the result of the WHO project, Integrated Surveillance of Noncommunicable Diseases, the aim of which was to assess the status quo regarding NCD data and indicators in European databases, provide international and national examples of good practice in NCD monitoring, and present innovative data sets and data-visualization tools. The coordinated effort of the WHO Regional Office for Europe, the European Commission, an expert group and representatives of the Member States, also provided an opportunity to analyse a pilot set of indicators and identify the basic steps towards improving the availability of information required to meet the policy targets of the NCD Global Monitoring Framework and Health 2020. viii, 44 p. |
