The Policy and Coordination Committee (PCC) acts as the Governing Body of the Special Programme of Research, Development and Research Training in Human Reproduction (HRP). The PCC holds an annual meeting to review and decide upon the planning and execution of the Special Programme of Research, Development and Research Training in Human Reproduction. The Thirty-seventh meeting of the PCC (PCC37) was held in Geneva, Switzerland, on 15–16 April 2024. A copy of the Report of the PCC37 is presented to Member States vide Annexure 2 of this Working Paper. Currently, three Member States from the WHO South-East Asia Region (Indonesia, Timor-Leste and India) are Members of the PCC in Category 2, and Thailand is a Member under Category 1. Since Indonesia's term of office ends on 31 December 2024, the High-Level Preparatory Meeting (HLP) for the Seventy-seventh Session of the WHO Regional Committee for South-East Asia, held in New Delhi, India, from 2 to 4 September 2024, was requested to consider electing one of the Member States of the WHO SE Asia Region to serve on the PCC for a three-year term of office starting 1 January 2025. Considering the given criteria, the HLP Meeting recommended that Sri Lanka serve on the PCC under Category 2 for a three-year term commencing 1 January 2025, in place of Indonesia.The recommendations for action to be taken made by the HLP Meeting for consideration by the Seventy-seventh Session of the WHO Regional Committee for South-East Asia are as follows: Action by WHO(1) Document the nomination of Sri Lanka based on the recommendations made at the HLP Meeting for inclusion in the Working Paper on this Agenda item for the Seventy-seventh Session of the Regional Committee and update the Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Department at WHO headquarters after the Regional Committee Session. The attached Working Paper and the HLP Meeting recommendations are submitted to the Seventy-seventh Session of the WHO Regional Committee for South-East Asia for its consideration and decision.
