Tóm tắt :

32 p. Chronic nonspecific lung diseases (CNSLD) are known to be an important cause of morbidity and mortality in adults in the European Region and in other areas of the world. The patterns of the diseases appear to vary from country to country. It is not clear how far this may be due to true differences in the frequency of their occurrence or to differences in the ways in which they are reported. But whatever the explanation may eventually be, sufficient is now known of factors implicated in the etiology of the diseases for serious consideration to be given to ways in which they may be controlled and prevented. The meeting of the working group was convened by the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Europe, in collaboration with the Austrian Government. It was attended by 14 temporary advisers and four WHO staff members. The objectives of the meeting were: to advise on the identification of groups and individuals who may be most at risk of developing chronic lung diseases; to review and evaluate methods for the prevention and control of the diseases; to suggest which of the methods could form the basis for community action against the diseases; and to identify areas needing further investigation and development.
