Tóm tắt : | 20 p. In November 2023, the seventeenth meeting of the WHO European Action Network on Reducing Marketing Pressure on Children took place online. The Network facilitates cooperation and knowledge-sharing between WHO European Region Member States on reducing the marketing of foods high in fat, sugar or salt to children as part of broader efforts to tackle increasing levels of childhood obesity and the consequently high burden of noncommunicable diseases. Representatives of Member States belonging to the Network participated in the meeting along with academic experts and representatives of civil society and international organizations, including WHO. The meeting heard updates from 32 Member States on their efforts to protect children from harmful food marketing. WHO shared news about ongoing work and the development of tools and resources to support Member States. In addition, participants heard about research to improve understanding of the rapidly evolving marketing context, including food marketing associated with gaming and meal delivery apps. Finally, Member States discussed their priorities and plans for the coming year and identified needs for support from WHO to take this work forward. |
