This article presents the results of research which was conducted in the Ngoc Nhi Bird Colony, Cam Linh Commune, Ba Vi District, Ha Noi City. Considering natural and socio-economic aspects as well as the management status of the bird colony, the roles of community in conservation management and development of the Ngoc Nhi Bird Colony are analyzed and recommendations have been made. Findings of the research show that there are number of management conflicts in Ngoc Nhi Bird Colony, especially in land use management. The local community plays a significant role in solving these conflicts through dialogue between the owner of the bird colony and the local community. Consensus in the community in the management and development of the bird colony is highly evaluated.
