Thông tin chi tiết
Tóm tắt : | Significant advances in prevention, screening, diagnosis and treatment have been made through public and private investments. However, rising prices and budgetary impacts of novel medicines in the WHO European Region have limited patient access, increased inequities, and caused financial hardship. Urgent collective action is needed to ensure equitable access for all patients and to maintain the resilience and sustainability of health-care systems and innovation. At the 72nd session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe in September 2022, Member States emphasized the need for stakeholder dialogue to improve access to novel medicines. This led to the creation of the Access to Novel Medicines Platform (NMP), which serves as a neutral space for stakeholder collaboration. Since its inception, the NMP has engaged 51 Member States and 49 non-State actors, including non-governmental, industry and partner organizations. Four working groups were established to address priorities in transparency, solidarity, sustainability and novel antimicrobials. The first in-person consensus-building meeting in July 2024 brought together representatives to discuss and agree on future projects, resulting in consensus on further group work and identifying synergies between proposals. This report provides an overview of the consensus-building meeting and highlights key discussion points. vi, 8 p. |
