Tóm tắt : | 60 p. A conference on the child and the adolescent in society was convened in Athens on 26–30 September 1978 by the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe in collaboration with the Government of Greece. The purpose of the conference was to recommend solutions to the problems which children and adolescents (5–18 years of age) are facing in society today. The need for such recommendations was based on two premises: the process of rapid socioeconomic development and industrialization taking place in the Region has profoundly changed the nature of the problems experienced by children and adolescents; and existing services for children and adolescents are inadequate and/or inappropriate for solving these new problems. The scope of the conference was broad, both in the geographical area it encompassed and in the breadth of the subject it considered. The conference wished to ensure an interdisciplinary approach in the conception and formulation of solutions to the problems of children and adolescents which would include theoretical, administrative, clinical, technical, pedagogical and practical considerations at all levels and for all services. The problems of children aged 5–18 years and all services provided for that age group in the contexts of health, education and psychosocial development were considered. |
